International Overdose Awareness Day aims to raise awareness of overdose and reduce the stigma of a drug-related death.
It also acknowledges the grief felt by families and friends remembering those who have met with death or permanent injury as a result of drug overdose.
Overdose Awareness Day spreads the message that the tragedy of overdose death is preventable.

BCCPA will be hosting a free webinar on Back to School Safety ~ Preventing Youth Exploitation Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 1030 to 1200. Kev Lescisin of Children of the Street Society will discuss the issue of youth exploitation.
This webinar will provide an overview of:
– What youth exploitation looks like
– An overview of school-based prevention programs
– Early intervention initiatives
– Resources for parents and service providers, including how teachers, counsellors, school liaison officers and service providers can incorporate these resources into their outreach activities.
Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with presenters and ask questions through the Webex chat function, or through the teleconference line.
