Resource Network Project

IN THE NEWS: Burnaby NOW -
August 16, 2008 Fighting crime in the stacks and on the web

Message from the Librarian

Welcome to the Resource Network’s new official website. As we all know, educating ourselves is our best defense against crime, and now you will be able to find up-to-date information on a variety of crime related issues right here.  You will want to keep checking back as we continue to add new resources to this site.  In January 2009, we will post an alphabetical subject list right on our main page so that you will be able to access all of the resources we have available pertaining to each subject. But for now, be sure to check out the links above to keep yourself informed on current crime prevention issues.

You can click on the Resource Guides link to access websites, blogs, and research information from authorities on a variety of criminal activities, such as Cyberbullying, Stalking/Harassment, etc.  We are also running a monthly Book Review Column on law enforcement/crime prevention materials.  If you would like to submit a book review, we would love to hear from you.

Our library has qualified for the Canada Post Library Rate which allows people living in remote areas access to books. (Free return postage is included) We have been taking advantage of this service to ship books to community police offices and other organizations across the province.

We have also provided the Ask the Librarian link above for you to type any questions you might have about using the library or any research questions you might have on a specific crime prevention topic.  Our staff is eager to hear your comments and suggestions on how we can provide the best crime prevention information to everyone in British Columbia.

This project is jointly funded by the Department of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness and the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General.
